One Stop Shop
Complete planning of production and supply for a wide range of printed components (folding cartons, leaflets, labels). Unified delivery reduces logistical complexity and optimises warehouse space and reception times.
Traceability & Security
Ensuring the integrity and authenticity of investigational medicinal products is crucial to the success of any clinical study. That is why we develop complete serialisation, tamper-evident, anti-counterfeiting and digital Track & Trace solutions, designed to ensure regulatory compliance, advanced protection and maximum transparency throughout the supply chain.
Serialisation
We assign each pack a unique code, in compliance with European Directive 2011/62/EU and the main international standards. We offer direct-to-packaging or self-adhesive label printing solutions and take care of design, testing and integration with your IT systems.
Tamper-evident
We design folding cartons with dedicated die-cut features and apply tamper-evident seals that make any attempt to open or alter the package before it is dispensed to the clinical study subject immediately evident and detectable.
Anti-counterfeiting
We use both visible technologies (holograms, micro-texts, micro-barcodes, QR codes) and invisible technologies (special inks and nano-engineered materials) to protect investigational medicinal products, and integrate into the packaging physical security levels that are extremely difficult for a counterfeiter to replicate.
Digital Track & Trace
Each pack has a ‘digital twin’ that allows traceability throughout the supply chain. Its identity can be easily verified via smartphone by the staff involved in the study, thus guaranteeing product authenticity and tracking.
Sustainability
In addition to our eco-design approach in the development of folding cartons and labels, we support pharmaceutical companies in analysing and reducing the environmental impact of packaging throughout the clinical supply chain, integrating both environmental and economic sustainability. We provide practical tools to facilitate reporting (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and contribute to achieving emission targets aligned with the Science Based Target initiative.
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
We scientifically assess the environmental footprint of packaging across its entire life cycle, from raw material sourcing to disposal. We offer different levels of analysis, from parametric LCA to detailed LCA, depending on the required granularity.
Materials and Process Optimisation
We propose recyclable and low-impact alternatives, reducing CO₂ emissions, waste, and Total Cost of Ownership.
Beyond the standard: ad hoc solutions
Each clinical trial brings specific challenges. With the support of our R&D department and Innovation Hub, we are able to go beyond standard solutions to co-create packaging, labels and services designed specifically to meet the needs of your programme. Do you have an idea? Together we can find the best solution.
PluggyMed
The success of a study depends largely on participant adherence. However, up to 50% of patients fail to follow their treatment regimen correctly, and this can have important consequences, including reduced treatment efficacy, increased data variability, lower ROI and delays in the time-to-market of new therapies. Every day lost means costs that can range from $600,000 to $8 million, but above all patients waiting longer for innovative treatment solutions.
PluggyMed is the Palladio Group’s smart packaging solution for clinical studies and patient support programmes: an innovation that turns any traditional blister pack into an interactive, connected tool. By leveraging intelligent design and digitisation, PluggyMed helps patients to take their therapy correctly and provides sponsors and CROs with reliable data to accelerate the development of new therapies.
