Braille

Labels with embossed Braille characters. Pursuant to Italian Law No 149 of 26/07/2005, these labels state the trade name of the medicine, so that it can be read by blind or visually-impaired persons. They can be applied in-line, on the outer packaging (for updating existing stock of folding cartons) or directly on the container (label with both traditional graphics and Braille characters).

Technical characteristics:

  • available with any format, in sheets or reels, provided they comply with the minimum sizes required by the Braille alphabet
  • the embossed characters do not have a detrimental effect on the readability of the underlying print
  • excellent machinability during application

Holographic

Holographic labels are special security labels that use holography technology to create dynamic, iridescent visual effects that change colour or display different images depending on the angle at which they are viewed. These effects are achieved using the diffraction of light and are extremely difficult to replicate faithfully, making the holographic label a powerful tool against counterfeiting. Their presence on a medicine provides both consumers and health professionals with reassurance of the product’s authenticity, and therefore protects both public health and brand reputation. The visually complex nature and the difficulty of duplicating holograms make them ideal for protecting brands and preventing falsified medicines from entering the supply chain.
